Trisquel GNU / Linux Trisquel GNU / Linux is a completely free GNU /
Linux distribution, which is based on Ubuntu (14.04 for the latest
version), and on the same principle as Parabola GNU / Linux and
gNewSense. All the software that is included in the basic installation
is completely free (The GIMP, LibreOffice, Firefox, etc.). It uses the
apt package manager, from Debian, and uses most of the elements present
in Ubuntu 14.04: the installer, some drivers, etc., while removing the
non-free elements: the kernel containing proprietary pieces, the
proprietary drivers as well as non-free software repositories,
guaranteeing the user complete freedom.
